What skills will I need to have to be a house sitter?

 
People will often wonder what sort of skills they will need to have when doing a house sitting job. The great thing is you don’t really need to have that many!

Essentially a house sitter is somebody who will look after a house while people are away. So if you are capable of looking after your own house, then you are capable of looking after somebody else’s!

There will be some house sitting chores that will require you to do extra work and have extra skills. Usually though the owner will inform you what skills are required.

If you have any other speciality skills that the owner may find useful, you should let them know. You could be a professional handyman who could fix their leaky tap.

You could do work on carpentry in Australia where you could create a kennel. You could even be a computer wizard who can assist the owners fix their dodgy computer. You never know what they might need!

Always go into the interview with the owner prepared to tell them what you can bring! That may help you out in the long run when it comes to getting the house pet sitter job!
